While adding a Ubuntu 18.04 VDI desktop to my VMware Horizon 7.13 desktop pool I was using PowerBroker Identity Services Open (PBIS) authentication. When I entered
/opt/pbis/bin/domainjoin-cli join mydomain.local netadmin@mydomain.local
I would get the following message
Error: ERROR_GEN_FAILURE [code 0x0000001f]
after removing avahi-daemon I was able to join without and issues. The command I used was
sudo apt-get remove avahi-daemon
.
