Netropy Cloud Edition (NetropyCE) from Apposite Technologies is a tool used to introduce latency, jitter and other common network disturbances into an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment. Though this may seem counter-intuitive, it is a good way to test to see how an application would actually behave in the real world. In this article, I give an overview of NetropyCE, show how it is used in AWS, and then give my final thoughts on the emulator.
